Here, we are going to be talking about the top five things you need to think about on offense as you enter the new year to Madden 24. 

1. Know How To Beat Man Coverage

Number one on our list is you must know how to beat Man Coverage.

As you guys know, Madden 23 was a game that was a heavily Man Coverage focused game. A lot of players used route cancellation abilities, such as One Step Ahead or Inside Shade. But if you were to go back before those abilities became possible, pretty much everybody was in cover zero or cover one.

As you guys know, EA is a company that likes to swing the pendulum. Typically, you go from a Man Coverage focus game to a Zone Coverage focus game. But that doesn’t mean that players won’t start the year off trying their old tricks to see if they still carry forward.

I am a big proponent of the ideology that route abilities beat Man Coverage. These are going to be things, such as Route Technician, Slot-O-Matic and Short In Elite. Things of that nature that will help get separation against Man to Man coverage. 

I’m gonna lean that stock Man Coverage interactions even if you don’t have those abilities against players that don’t have route cancellation abilities will lean towards the offense winning. 

But it is very important that you guys learn how to utilize man beaters. You have to be able to isolate those routes and be able to win when you can identify those one-on-one. So, every offense, no matter what it is you run, must have man coverage beaters at multiple spots on the field. 

2. Beat Every Single Stock Coverage Shell

Now, let’s talk about number two. You must be able to beat every single stock Coverage Shell in Madden. 

That means you need something that beats Cover 2. You need something that’s going to beat Cover 3 Drop. You need something that’s going to be Cover 4 Drop. And you also need something that can take the lid off of Cover 4 Match.

If you cannot do this in your offense, that means that every time you run into somebody that runs one of those base Coverage Shells, you lose that game. Most players know how to beat all of these coverages out of their formation of choice. But you guys will be able to apply this teaching into whatever offense it is that you choose in Madden 24. 

If you guys use motion to achieve any of those coverage beaters, it’s also very important that you lab up a beater or route combination that utilizes that same motion for every other Coverage Shell. Because you don’t want towels in your offense. 

3. Protect The Quarterback

Number three is very simple. You must be able to protect the Quarterback.

A lot of players will look at a formation and say the empty looks great. But what they don’t understand is that because it’s empty, you don’t have extra Tight Ends or Running Backs in the formation that can help block the Blitz.

This is going to invite some of the simple Blitzes that such as your Over Storms or your Mid Blitz metas or some of the more complex adjusty coverage type Blitzes, like we’ve seen out of dollars over the recent years to be something that gives you problems.

So, if you’re going to run something, you have to lab up your protections. It might be blocking a Running Back. It may be leaving a Tight End to block. It may even be motion snapping a wide receiver so that he stays in and chips on the edge to give you time. Whatever it is that you run, you must have protections lapped up for every single Blitz meta in the game.

As you encounter something that gives you trouble, go into Practice Mode and lab those things after the game, so that way you’re not surprised by it the next time you face it.

4. Run Game

Number four, your Run Game. This is the area of the game that a lot of Madden players shun one another over, but is a big time determining factor of winning ball games in Madden every single year.

Have you ever noticed that the players who complain most about how easy the Run Game is when they’re having trouble stopping it struggle to get that one yard when they need it most? 

That’s because there is equity in the Run Game. Every scheme in the game needs a Run Game whether it’s left, right, and middle, out of an under Center set, or just something to keep your opponent honest when you’re in a High Octane passing offense out of the shotgun and mixing a draw inside zone or trap. These are the differences in these offenses and the most successful players will mix these in at the right time.

Furthermore, I think it’s really important that you lab your offense in a run scenario in between the 20s. When you’re trying to milk a game out, you need first downs and to keep the clock running. Your opponent wants to burn timeouts and stop the clock. Those runs that you can get consistent yardage out of become very valuable down in the Red Zone, which is going to be our next part.

5. Red Zone

Our final bullet point of how to lab and offense in any Madden, but especially Madden 24, is the Red Zone.

This is the most neglected area of the field. Yet, it is the most determining factor of nearly every game you see whether it’s a competitive level game or just a regular free online head-to-head seasons game.

Your ability to come away with seven and prevent your opponent from the defensive perspective from getting seven instead of three is going to be a big deal on offense. If you’re going down to the Red Zone and coming away with only three, you’re leaving four on the board every single time.

There’s a lot of players out there that have amazing High Octane offenses when they have 40, 50, 60, yards of turf to throw to. But you put them in that tight area inside the 20 and all of a sudden, their offense falls apart completely. You need a library of coverage beaters. Whether it’s Cover 3, Cover 2, Cover 4 Drop, Man Coverage or Match Coverage, notice the trends. You don’t just need to be able to beat those shells over the top. But you need the ability to manipulate them underneath, so you can find your way into the end zone. 

Also, the Run Game that we talked about in the previous bullet point comes in pretty valuable down here as well. Because if you can chew up three to five yards a pop, you got yourself an offense that you can Pound The Rock inside the tent. Those are the differences between winning and losing any year in Madden. 

These are the five tips I brought today. Of course, it would be even better if you can have a large amount of MUT 24 Coins in the early days of Madden 24 release. Because in this way you can buy some powerful players to join your team.
