FC 27 FUT Champions Guide: New Rules, Match Format, and Rewards Explained

FUT Champions has always been the ultimate test of player skill within EA Sports FC Ultimate Team ecosystem. However, in FC 27, EA has made its most significant structural overhaul to this mode in recent years, aiming to lower the barrier to entry while increasing rewards for top performers.

Therefore, whether you're a veteran player who's been battling in Weekend Leagues since FIFA 17 or a newcomer curious about Champions, understanding how FUT 27 Champions works is crucial to fully experiencing Ultimate Team.

This article will guide you through FUT 27 Champions mode, helping you complete the challenges and earn rewards.

About FUT Champions

FUT Champions is the most competitive game mode in Ultimate Team. It's a weekend event, starting on Friday and ending Monday morning, providing players with a clear time window to complete challenges.

Qualified players will compete against similarly skilled opponents in a limited number of matches, with rewards increasing based on the number of wins achieved.

This mode was initially introduced in FIFA 17 as Weekend League, requiring players to complete 40 matches within 48 hours. Over the years, EA has gradually reduced this burden, with FIFA 27 further reducing the number of matches in the final stage to a more manageable 15.

Meanwhile, the controversial Division 6 requirement has been removed, Squad Battles now count towards qualifiers, and the rewards system further enhances player autonomy through Champions Tokens.

These adjustments demonstrate EA's commitment to making Champions more accessible to a wider range of players without sacrificing the competitiveness of Champions.

Qualification: How to Earn Spot?

Unlike FC 26, Division 6 requirements have been removed, meaning players no longer need to reach a specific rank in Rivals to qualify. Therefore, this means any player, regardless of their current Rivals rank, can accumulate Champions Qualification Points and ultimately earn match qualification.

You primarily earn CQP through Division Rivals matches. The rate of accumulation is tied to your rank; the higher your rank, the more points you earn, but you also lose more CQP for each match lost.

The most significant new addition in FC 27 is that Squad Battles now also reward Champions Qualification Points. This provides a true path to competitive play for players who prefer offline PvE experiences.

If you enjoy honing your skills against AI-controlled opponents while completing objectives and evolution missions, you can now take a solid step towards Champions qualification without even entering Rivals mode.

Of course, if your sole objective is to qualify as quickly as possible and you are proficient in online play, Rivals mode remains a more efficient option due to the higher CQP reward rate in higher-level leagues.

Weekend Format: Champions Finals

CQP entry threshold is typically 1,000 points. Once you've accumulated enough CQP, you can enter Champions Finals - the main event. You can play a maximum of 15 matches, with your final number of wins determining your reward tier.

Additionally, there's a Tier 2 format called Champions Challengers, consisting of up to 5 matches and featuring its own ranking system and rewards. This provides a shorter option for players who want to experience competitive mode without playing all 15 matches; naturally, the rewards will be adjusted accordingly.

Rewards: Tokens and Coins

The rewards for Champions mode in FIFA 27 have been significantly increased. Based on your final number of wins, you'll receive a combination of Champions Tokens and FUT 27 coins.

Even with just 5 wins, you'll earn 2,500 coins and 50 tokens. 8 wins will earn you 15,000 coins and 90 tokens. 10 wins will jump to 35,000 coins and 135 tokens. A 12-game winning streak earns 75,000 coins and 215 tokens. A perfect 15-game winning streak earns up to 250,000 coins and 450 tokens.

These tokens can then be used in Champions Token Store, where you can choose your desired rewards. Options include featured player packs, evolution items, and some unique cosmetic items.

Matchmaking and Form

Matchmaking in Champions mode is affected by your position, platform, and your Form.

Your Form refers to your win-loss record in the current match. Each win increases your Form by 1; each loss decreases it by 1. For example, if you win your first game, your Form becomes +1. If you then lose two consecutive games, your Form drops to -1. Your Form is reset to zero each time you enter the finals or playoffs.

The system attempts to match you with opponents of similar Form, creating a more balanced matchmaking experience over time. Ideally, a player with a 6-1 record (Form +5) should be matched against another player with a similar status, even if their win counts differ.

However, EA has acknowledged that the matchmaking system did not function as expected at the initial launch of FUT 27. The studio stated that it is investigating issues with the matchmaking adjustments and plans to release a fix to make the system more rigorous.

This concludes the article on FC 27 FUT Champions mode. This mode requires players to concentrate, be well-prepared, and maintain good mental fortitude - playing 15 matches against similarly skilled opponents is no easy feat.

EA has created a Champions mode in FIFA 27 that respects players' time while retaining the thrill of high-stakes competition. Go try it out and good luck!

EA FC 27 Ultimate Team Trading Guide | 5 Methods to Grow Your Coins

Late September to early October may be when EA FC 27 has its largest player population, with new cards constantly entering the market and strong demand for all kinds of players.

If you know some trading techniques, you can make good use of this early stage to invest, and as long as you manage your investments well, you may not have to worry about running short of coins for the next few months. Let's take a look at the trading methods you can use.

Silver Card Trading

Silver card trading has long been overlooked. Many players focus only on Icon cards, Hero cards, and In-form cards, while the silver market has much less competition.

You can filter for silver cards with a minimum of 1,000 coins and a maximum of 5,000 coins. It is even better to narrow the search down to Premier League players, which helps you avoid silver cards with inflated listings that rarely sell.

You do not need to look for the cards with the biggest increases. Instead, focus on cards that can consistently sell for 1,000 to 5,000 coins. Once their value rises by around 300 to 500 coins, you can sell them.

Chemistry Styles

Chemistry Style Trading is a method that works every year. Many players forget that a card already has a valuable Chemistry Style applied when listing it, while buyers are willing to offer more for the right Chemistry Style.

For attackers, focus on Hunter and Hawk. For defenders, look for Anchor and Shadow. In some cases, Engine can also make a card more valuable.

First, find the player you want to trade, then look for the lowest-value version of that player on the market at the 59th minute.

If the player is more defensive, add Shadow to the search filters. If the player is more attack-oriented, add Hunter. Then search for the lowest-value card with that Chemistry Style.

The reason is that many regular players use FUTBIN to track changes in player values, and FUTBIN usually displays the value of a card without a Chemistry Style. However, a player with Shadow may actually be worth 5,500 coins. A regular seller may only see 3,900 and list Shadow version for around the same amount.

You only need to add Shadow or Hunter to the search filters and snipe cards at the value shown for the version without a Chemistry Style.

It is recommended to set the range from 4,000 to 20,000 FC 27 coins and choose players who are still popular and in demand. Competition is usually very low with this method, so you can often find the cards you need without much difficulty.

FUT Gallery Trading

For players with a low budget, FUT Gallery Trading is currently one of the best trading methods. It can easily generate 10,000 to 20,000 coins per hour with very little risk.

The current football gallery has plenty of activity, and the teams that can provide the most tokens are the most worthwhile to trade. You can focus on players from the following teams:

  • Frosinone
  • Málaga
  • Birmingham City
  • Tenerife Albacete
  • Le Mans

Buy one card for each position, then immediately use Lazy Listing for one hour after acquiring the card. List it for 300 to 400 coins above the amount you acquired it for, and sometimes you can go 500 coins higher.

For example, if you acquire a card for 1,500 coins, list it for 1,800 to 1,900 coins. If you acquire a Málaga player for 1,300 to 1,400 coins, follow the same approach. It is best to keep 30 to 50 cards listed at the same time. The real sales peak usually comes during the final 20 to 30 seconds before the hour ends.

Do not click Relist All. The correct approach is to relist individually. If all cards are relisted together, they will all expire at the same time, making it much harder to sell them during the final 20 to 30 seconds.

When you relist the cards individually, however, they will expire at different times. This gives more Lazy Buyers a chance to see and acquire your cards at the last moment.

Thursday and Sunday Windows

There are two important windows every week: Rivals Rewards on Thursday and Squad Battles Rewards on Sunday. These rewards provide large numbers of Tradable Packs, increasing market supply and causing many cards to appear through open bidding.

During these periods, you can bid on any cards within your budget, as many players will acquire them for direct use. Your goal is to win bids at low amounts and then list the cards.

Reward days are also a good time to bid on fodder cards. Many 85, 86, 87, 88, and 89-rated cards consistently sell on the market because SBCs continue to require them.

Some fodder cards that are worth only a few hundred coins may rise to several thousand coins when SBC activity becomes intense.

Out of Packs Investing

Out of Packs Investing is a highly effective early-game investment method. When a player is likely to enter a Team of the Week squad or when a Promo Team is about to launch, their regular Gold card temporarily leaves the active supply, which can cause its value to rise.

If you invest in their regular cards before these special cards are released, you can often make a small profit. However, it is worth noting that there may be a risk of a sharp decline after the special card squad is revealed. For greater safety, it is better to sell the regular cards shortly before the special cards are released.

There are many trading methods in EA FC 27, and each budget level has its own approach. You can stick to simple Chemistry Style Trading and reward-day bidding, or you can make market trading a major part of your game cycle. The key principles remain the same: control risk, account for the tax, and avoid listing too many cards at once. By mastering these techniques, you can steadily build up coins throughout the game cycle.

Is FC 27 Transfer Market Locked? How to Unlock It and Why Access Takes 24 - 48 Hours

Upon first entering FC 27 Ultimate Team, some players may find Transfer Market locked, preventing them from searching for players, placing bids, or using Buy Now option.

For players new to EA SPORTS FC, this is usually related to Graduated Access.

You must first complete specific sets of Objectives to meet the in-game requirements for unlocking Transfer Market and Champions modes. Even after finishing all the tasks, access may not be granted immediately; there is often an additional waiting period.

How to Unlock It?

New players need to start with Ultimate Team Objectives and complete three sets of tasks in order:

  1. Complete The Journey Begins;
  2. Unlocking this grants access to First Team Dreams;
  3. Complete First Team Dreams to unlock Rising Through Ranks;
  4. Completing Rising Through Ranks fulfills the requirements to unlock Transfer Market and Champions modes.

These Objective sets cannot be skipped; the next set only becomes available after the previous one is completed. Returning Players with accounts in good standing may already have access and do not need to go through this process.

How Long Does It Take?

Even after completing Rising Through Ranks, there is a processing period before the market becomes fully available.

According to current EA rules, PC players may have to wait up to 48 hours, while players on platforms like PlayStation and Xbox may wait up to 24 hours. During this time, you can list items for sale on Transfer Market, but you cannot search, bid, or use Buy Now.

It is not unusual to find yourself able to sell cards but unable to buy them. Full access to search, bid, and Buy Now functions will only be granted once this waiting period ends.

Once you have full market access, you can use your accumulated FIFA 27 coins to search for and purchase players, allowing you to directly fill any gaps in your squad.

Why Is It Still Locked?

If you have completed all three sets of Objectives but FC 27 market remains locked, don’t immediately assume the tasks didn’t register.

Most often, it simply means the access permissions haven’t taken effect yet. There is an additional waiting period on PC and other platforms after completing Rising Through Ranks objective; if you can list cards for sale but cannot yet Search, Bid, or use Buy Now, you are likely still in this phase.

Another common misconception concerns Web App. Graduated Access unlocks Transfer Market and Champions modes within the game itself, but it does not automatically unlock Transfer Market within Web App or Companion App.

If you encounter in-game notifications regarding a blocked Transfer Market, a ban, or similar restrictions, these must be addressed as account-level restrictions. This situation is distinct from the standard waiting period new players undergo to gain market access.

Web App Access

Web App and Companion App have their own specific unlocking criteria.

Some eligible Returning Players may gain access immediately; accounts without immediate access must continue playing Ultimate Team, allowing the system to determine when to open the market based on account status, the number of FUT accounts used on the device, and Active Days.

EA defines an Active Day precisely: a day counts as active only if you complete three full Ultimate Team matches within a single UTC calendar day and log in to Web App or Companion App on that same day.

While working toward Web App access, you can still play Ultimate Team normally and continue building up FIFA 27 coins, rewards, and players through matches and Objectives.

If the account status is in good standing and no other Ultimate Team accounts have been created or used on the current device, market access is typically granted after about two Active Days.

If other Ultimate Team accounts have been used on the device, at least four Active Days are usually required; the more accounts used, the longer the unlock time may be.

Here is a common pitfall that leads to wasted effort: playing 10 or 20 matches in a single day does not count as multiple Active Days. Exceeding the daily requirement of three matches will not accelerate the unlocking of Web/Companion Transfer Market.

Why Graduated Access?

EA explains Graduated Access as follows: on one hand, it restricts non-compliant accounts from quickly entering FUT 27 market, thereby mitigating the impact of such activity on Ultimate Team economy; on the other, it encourages new players to first familiarize themselves with the fundamental mechanics of Ultimate Team.

For legitimate new accounts, this means Transfer Market is no longer a feature that is fully accessible immediately upon entering UT.

What to Do While Waiting?

The waiting period for FC 27 market access does not prevent you from continuing to progress in Ultimate Team. You can start by completing other objectives and playing Rivals or other UT modes to accumulate available rewards and FC coins.

When there is no market price reference yet, avoid rushing to Quick Sell high-rated cards, players from popular leagues, or potential fodder for future SBCs. Even if a card isn’t useful to you right now, it could hold trade value or be valuable for your squad once the market opens.

You can decide whether to save your packs based on your current squad, but there is no need to spend your coins in a hurry.

Wait until Transfer Market fully opens to compare player costs based on market prices; prioritizing upgrades for your squad’s weakest positions makes it easier to manage your budget than relying solely on packs.
