Legends & Flashbacks Collection, the first major collection event of MLB The Show 26, will launch on April 24th. This collection is far more challenging than completing Live Series collection. Below, we'll help you prepare thoroughly by covering card series and strategies for different players.

How difficult is it?

For players unfamiliar with this mechanism, let's use a simple analogy. Live Series collection represents collecting 30 teams to receive Troy Tulowitzki and rewards along the way. This collection, however, requires you to collect dozens of card series to obtain legendary cards.

For example, Rookie, Breakout, and All-Star Series each require you to collect most of the cards. You can skip one complete set, but you'll need to achieve 85% to 95% completion in the rest.

The good news is that you don't need to complete 100% of every set. Each set has 1-3 skippable cards, usually the most expensive cards or rewards from World Series.

The Most Difficult Series

Awards Series

This series is predicted to require 18 cards. It includes AL collection, World Series rewards, Jackie Robinson collection, and high-priced Chase cards. If you have all the other series, you can consider skipping this series.

2nd Half Heroes Series

This series requires approximately 16 cards.

It includes expensive and rare cards like Randy Johnson, Bernie Williams, David Wright, Manny Ramirez, and Mark Davis. Without at least one League collection, you'll struggle here. You can choose to skip Bernie Williams and Randy Johnson, and keep the other relatively cheaper cards.

Spotlight Series

In this series, there are almost no cards that can be skipped. It basically requires you to collect them all, around 12 to 14 cards. You either collect them all or skip the entire Spotlight Series. But the cost is that you need to complete 100% of the other series.

Medium Difficulty Series

All-Star Series

This series includes several high-priced Live Series teams, but these are automatically unlocked if you already own Troy Tulowitzki. If not, it's recommended to skip All-Star Series, as it requires the most expensive teams.

Postseason Series

Postseason Series has three big cards: Roy Campanella, Giancarlo Stanton, and Victor Martinez. You only need one of them. If you have Troy Tulowitzki, Campanella should be your first choice.

Breakout Series

This series has 18 cards, which seems like a lot, but most come from Team Affinity or Diamond Quest. The real hurdles are Ken Singleton and Paul Goldschmidt.

Skip these two and collect the remaining 16. Garrett Cleavinger is key; his price will probably increase, so if you don't have enough MLB 26 stubs, grab him early.

Simple Series

Rookie Series

Skip the most expensive Spencer Strider or Dick Allen from the 8 cards; the remaining 7 are all from Team Affinity or free mode.

Veteran Series

Skip Andrew Miller from the 12 cards; although he's strong, he's also expensive. The remaining 11 are almost all from the cheap Live Series collection.

Topps Now Series

Currently 19 cards, possibly 24 after Friday's update, and you should need to collect them all. However, most cards were free or low-priced when they first launched, so you can collect them at a low cost by playing regularly each week.

Jolt Series

Jolt Series has 60 cards; you only need to collect 30. There are plenty of free cards, making it easy to collect.

Spring Breakout and New Threads Series

Only one free card is needed for each, no pressure.

What Different Players Need to Do?

If you already own Troy Tulowitzki, then you've essentially got a ticket. All you need to do is unlock the low-priced Egg Hunt and St. Patrick's Day Series cards in advance. Even if you already have them, you can stock up and sell them.

If you've completed more than half of your section collections, for example, you might have completed AL or NL but don't have Troy Tulowitzki, then you need to choose the most difficult series and the one where you're most missing cards as a skip. Focus your resources on completing the parts of other series that don't require high-priced Live Series rewards.

You can focus on investing in Egg Hunt and St. Patrick's Day Series, which don't require any Live Series collections. These are unlikely to be completed on day one, but can be completed within the first week.

For players who don't have Troy Tulowitzki and are missing many section collections, don't force yourself to get the final reward on day one. This collection is designed for heavy spenders and grinders. Your best strategy is to use this collection to generate revenue.

Stubs you earn can be used to slowly complete your Live Series collection and then prepare for the next big collection.

All players should avoid ignoring the free but time-consuming cards, as these cards will probably increase in price once Friday collection goes live. Furthermore, avoid blindly following trends and investing in expensive cards; some cards have already increased significantly and are unlikely to see further price drops.

Rebuild Your Pitching Lineup

Many players are using pitchers who are completely unsuitable for the current meta. While batters largely depend on personal preference, pitchers are crucial. A bad pitcher will get you blown out. Especially when a card is supercharged, you must make the most of that week.

Here are four starting pitchers not recommended for ranked play:

• Cristopher Sánchez is basically a free win for most players.
• Justin Verlander is like a lower-tier Clayton Kershaw.
• Yoshinobu Yamamoto is easily blown out even on Legend difficulty.
• Dylan Cease is also ineffective in the game.

Regarding bullpen, Devin Williams only has three pitches and lacks variety. Kenley Jansen's release point is too predictable. Robert Suarez and Shawn Armstrong are also runners-up. These pitchers shouldn't be in your lineup.

Actually, you can adjust your pitching lineup to a decent level without spending too many MLB The Show 26 stubs.

As for the batting lineup, while Fernando Tatis Jr. is a good choice, and his 242 batting average is indeed impressive, we don't plan to put him in this position here. Because if you equip him with a speed mod, his defensive performance will exceed your expectations.

Replacing Justin Crawford with Max Clark in center field is a cost-effective choice; he has more power, a better swing, and is more efficient. Bryan Reynolds in right field is one of the best outfielders in the game.

George Brett is slightly better than Munetaka Murakami for first base. Willi Castro is one of the best players in the game for third base, and he's also a switch hitter. These are basically the main positional adjustments you'll need to make.

Fix Your Game Settings

The second aspect, just as important as the lineup, is the game settings. There are a few key items players should pay attention to.

First, Hitting Interface must be set to Zone, and PCI Sensitivity should be lowered to around 70%. Otherwise, it will cause the ball to hit too high or too low. For PCI Center, Diamonds is recommended, with no inner and no outer, and the color should be orange.

For Pitching Interface, it's best not to choose Pulse; Pinpoint is recommended. Yes, it's a bit difficult and requires practice, but once you master it, it will improve your ball control by 20 times. Compared to Pulse, Pinpoint gives you more than 30 times the control over the landing point.

Next is Pitching Ball Marker. Adjust it to Pitching Trail so you can clearly see the complete trajectory of the ball and form a mental image instead of guessing.

Finally, you need to set Throwing Interface to Button Accuracy. Using only Button makes passing unpredictable, leaving you with little recourse. Accuracy displays a green window indicating whether a shot is needed, giving you control. Always enable Throwing Cancellation to prevent errors.

Currently, the most popular Hitting Views are Strike Zone 1 and Strike Zone High. Importantly, switch your defensive view to the same Strike Zone view. Seeing the ball from the batter's perspective while pitching allows for a better assessment of its potential. Don't use the default view.

If you play ranked with a bad pitcher and Pulse Pitching, the result is predictable. Correcting these two things will significantly improve your skill level.

Properly Managing Stubs and Collections

Manage your cards properly. Many players have this problem: they collect a little bit of each team, even duplicates, but never complete a team's collection.

Some cards are useful early in the game, but are replaced by stronger cards after 2-3 weeks. Therefore, now is the best time to use them. Don't wait until all your cards are locked and unsellable. You'll never get those reward cards, or by the time you do, they'll be outdated.

Sell all cards you're not currently pursuing. For example, if you only want to focus on Live Series, sell all other series. If you're focused on American League, sell all National League cards. If your goal is National League, do the opposite.

Concentrate your resources on completing one league at a time. Completing each division or league will give you a greater sense of accomplishment and allow you to unlock top rewards like Jackson Chourio sooner. Trying to do everything at once will result in accomplishing nothing. You might have dozens of locked cards without any meaningful return.

In short, do these three things well: build a reasonable pitching lineup, optimize game settings, and manage your stubs and collection wisely. These don't require excessive grinding; they are simple and easy methods that can greatly improve your gaming experience and win rate.

Fourth is Live Series Cal Raleigh, suitable for All-Star difficulty. His price is high, so it's not recommended to waste your money. New players can try him out.

Third is Will Smith. Arguably the best budget catcher, with a good swing, and his defense can be improved through Parallel Mods.

Second is Roy Campanella. Excellent on both offense and defense, fast, and possesses the two most important quirks: Dead Red and Breaking Ball Hitter. Some find the swing difficult to adapt to, while others find it perfectly fine.

The top catcher is Adley Rutschman. His form is much better this year than last, his defense is good, and his speed is considered fast for a catcher. He has a Dead Red and a First Pitch, but lacks a Breaking Ball Hitter. Overall, however, he remains the strongest catcher currently.

In addition, there are two honorary nominees, Joe Mauer and Harry Ford. While Harry Ford's speed isn't what it used to be, he's still worth a try.

First Base

There are several ties for first base: Vinnie Pasquantino, Bryce Harper, and David Ortiz.

Vinnie Pasquantino's defense is practically nonexistent, his hitting is decent, his clutch isn't high, but he's not too bad against lefties. Bryce Harper is a bit weaker but faster, and his defense is slightly better than Vinnie Pasquantino's. David Ortiz has the best quirks of the three; his swing is a matter of personal preference.

Next on the list is Munetaka Murakami. His power is significantly higher than the three above, his swing is extremely smooth, his speed is average, and his defense is decent.

The second-place finisher at first base is Carlos Santana. He has a First Pitch and Dead Red, better quirks, and is the best defensive first baseman in the game.

Undoubtedly, the first place is Albert Pujols. He has almost all the important quirks, good power, defense, and speed; he can even play third base.

Second Base

Fifth place is JJ Wetherholt. He's fast, has a decent swing, and is generally very solid.

Fourth place has two ties: Mookie Betts and Didi Gregorius. Mookie Betts has poor defense but is quite fast. Didi Gregorius is similar to Mookie, with poor defense but a powerful hit, even faster speed, good quirks, and many people love his swing.

Third place is Chone Figgins. His swing isn't very attractive, but his speed and defense are good.

The second-place finisher at second base is Ozzie Albies. Excellent swing, average quirks, decent speed.

The most recommended second baseman is Ketel Marte. A very strong offensive second baseman, average defense, quick reflexes, and irreplaceable hitting value as a second baseman.

Third Base

Greg Nettles, ranked fifth at third base, has good defense and a decent swing.

Fourth is Kazuma Okamoto, good swing, also has a dead red, and relatively strong power.

Next is Maikel Garcia, the most overpriced card, possibly the best defense, but low cost-effectiveness.

Second on third base is Willi Castro, his actual performance exceeds his stats, and he is generally recommended.

The best third baseman is José Ramírez, the consensus number one. Although his defense is inconsistent, his high vision makes him a viable option for second base.

Shortstop

Fifth is Geraldo Perdomo. Low power but possesses Dead Red and Breaking Ball Hitter abilities, decent speed, and good defense; one of the most underrated cards.

Fourth shortstop: Leo De Vries has three of the most important quirks and is budget-friendly.

Third: Corey Seager has an excellent swing, average arm strength, but good overall defense.

Second: Francisco Lindor. Although his defense is relatively weak, he has good quirks, and his swing is consistently popular with players.

First shortstop: Troy Tulowitzki is arguably the best. All his stats are outrageous, and he has a complete set of important quirks.

Left Field

Actually, the left field position is currently relatively scarce, so only three players are recommended here.

Third on the list is Roman Anthony. Around 15,000 stubs; slightly lacking in power, but otherwise passable.

Second: Andrew McCutchen; his swing is consistently good, his defense is poor but he's well-suited for the left field position.

A highly recommended player is Lance Berkman. Extremely effective against righties, but somewhat weak against lefties. Overall, he's still very reliable.

Center Field

Fifth place: Jackson Chourio's swing is better than expected, but he lacks power.

Next is Max Clark; good contact, lacks power, and his defense is average.

Third place: Julio Rodríguez is also an overvalued player; his hitting is average and he needs improvement in many areas.

Then Byron Buxton is highly recommended. 99 speed, good power, already excellent.

First place is undoubtedly Mike Trout. Top-tier hitting, and his defense is sufficient; a blind pick.

Right Field

Jeremy Bennett is worth recommending; he's strong against righties, and his swing is reportedly very good.

Ronald Acuña Jr. has good hitting and strong arms, but his defensive reaction is somewhat poor.

Third place is Ken Singleton; his stats are decent, but his 59 speed severely hinders his defense.

Second place goes to Aaron Judge. His hitting is near-collectible level, and his defense makes up for it, making him worth using.

The top spot for right field belongs to Fernando Tatis Jr. He's an all-around player with a good swing, good defense, and high speed.
