FIFA 27's Career Mode has received positive feedback from many players for its overall direction, but several issues continue to affect the experience.
The biggest problem right now is the transfer system, including players frequently submitting transfer requests, unrealistic AI transfer behavior, and difficulties finding loan opportunities for young players. The official team previously acknowledged these issues and said they were working on them, but no patch has been released to address them yet.
Frequent Transfer Requests
This is currently one of the most frustrating issues. After playing for more than half a season, players are likely to encounter situations where a footballer receives regular playing time, performs well, and appears happy at the club, only to suddenly submit a Transfer Request.
Once a transfer request appears, there is very little players can do to reverse the situation. Offering a new contract, rejecting all offers before a request is submitted, or guaranteeing a starting position are all reasonable ways to reassure a player in real-world football, but none of them seems to work against this bug.
Andreas, a member of the official community team, previously shared some details about how the system works. Players with a Crucial Squad Role expect to receive 90% of their Available Minutes, while those with an Important Squad Role expect 70%.
When a player's actual playing time falls below half of their expected minutes, they may start complaining. For example, a crucial player might have approximately 1,000 available minutes across 11 matches and expect to play around 900 minutes. However, if their actual playing time falls below approximately 450 minutes, they may become unhappy and even submit a transfer request.
The problem is that this system can misjudge situations involving perfectly reasonable squad rotation in real-world football. For example, a player returning from injury may be fit enough to make the matchday squad, but with their Stamina only halfway recovered, you would naturally leave them on the bench until they are fully fit again.
However, those missed minutes still count toward their expected playing time, effectively penalizing players for managing their squad realistically. The problem becomes even more noticeable when several players compete for the same position and all have high squad roles.
The good news is that the official team acknowledged the transfer request issue in a Developer Update on September 29 and stated that they were working on it. However, there is still no confirmed timeline for a fix.
Workarounds
As a temporary workaround, you can select settings such as No Sacking, Loose Transfers, and Loose Contract Negotiation before starting a new career. These options will not prevent players from submitting transfer requests, but they can reduce some of the restrictions and consequences associated with the issue.
Even if a player requests a transfer, you can still use them in your squad, so the practical impact is relatively small. The main annoyance is that the transfer request remains visible in the player's status information.
You can also check a player's profile on Transfermarkt to see which positions they have played throughout their career and how their attributes are rated in each position. This can help you rotate players across different roles and distribute playing time more evenly.
An Unbalanced Transfer Market
AI Transfers have been a longstanding complaint in Career Mode community. Players placed on the transfer or loan list often receive few, if any, offers from other clubs.
Even when you list a player for transfer, finding a genuine opportunity to sell or loan them out can be difficult. As a result, surplus players remain in the squad, making it harder to refresh the team and develop a new generation of players.
What makes this even stranger is the contrast with the lack of interest when listing a player. As soon as one club makes an inquiry, an excessive number of competing offers suddenly flood in.
It is almost as if you listed a player on UT market and nobody showed any interest for a long time, but as soon as one player traded with you, everyone else suddenly wanted to throw FC 27 coins at you. It feels completely unnatural.
Another recurring issue is that certain players seem to join the same clubs in almost every installment. In FC 27, Barcelona appears particularly keen on signing defenders, while PSG seems to lose many of its best players.
One of the joys of Career Mode is seeing the football world develop differently from reality. However, when the same transfers repeatedly occur across multiple career saves, the experience becomes less unpredictable.
Youth Academy and Loan Development
Youth Academy and loan development for young players are among the features many players enjoy most in Career Mode. You can discover promising youngsters, develop their abilities, and eventually watch them break into the first team.
However, youth players with low Overall ratings currently struggle to attract loan offers. According to observations from the player community, an Overall rating of around 70 appears to be the point at which loan offers become more common.
This does not make much sense, since a young player with an Overall rating of around 60 should realistically have opportunities to join a lower-division or second-tier club on loan and gain valuable playing time. In FC 27, however, these players often remain stuck in the reserve team without a clear path to development.
A temporary workaround is to keep promising players in Youth Academy for as long as possible. After promoting them to the first team, give them opportunities in cup competitions or against weaker opponents, then wait for them to develop and attract more loan offers. It is not an ideal solution, but it is a practical way to work around the problem.
EA FC 27's Career Mode is far from bad. In fact, it has been one of the most enjoyable iterations in recent years. That is precisely why these issues stand out so much. Addressing them would make an already enjoyable mode even better.

With Ultimate Scream Promo launching on October 23, a brand-new Scream Token Store has also arrived. The store will remain available for approximately 21 days, and tokens can be redeemed until November 13.
The way to earn Scream Tokens is different from FC 26. You can no longer obtain them through Rivals rewards. Instead, you must complete various Objectives and SBCs. More than 2,000 tokens are available throughout the event, but you will need to complete quite a few tasks within the 21-day period.
How to Get Scream Tokens?
Ultimate Scream Puzzle Completionist
This Objective group introduces six Ultimate Scream SBC challenges in stages. For each SBC you complete, you can claim 30 Ultimate Scream Tokens from this Objective group.
After completing all six SBCs, you can also claim a group reward containing an additional 100 Ultimate Scream Tokens and 100 SP. In total, you can earn 280 Scream Tokens and 100 SP.
The SBCs will become available throughout the week according to the following schedule:
- Spooky Nights: October 23
- Scary Candy: October 24
- Boo Hoo Party: October 25
- Freaky Zombie: October 26
- Pumpkin Seeds: October 27
- Hocus Pocus: October 28
Phantom Playgrounds
Phantom Playgrounds is a themed Objective group introduced alongside the token store during FC 27 Ultimate Scream event. It is also one of the main ways to earn Scream Tokens during the early stages of the event.
This group contains seven individual Objectives with Halloween-themed names. You must complete them in Squad Battles on at least Semi-Pro difficulty, although you can also progress through online modes such as Rivals, Live Events, Rush, and Champions.
This event requires a fair amount of grinding. You may need 15 to 30 matches to complete everything, and you have approximately 14 days to finish Objectives. Each completed Objective rewards 50 Scream Tokens.
| Quests | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Gulyabani's Wrath | Have at least one Turkish player in your starting lineup and play 7 matches. |
| Tricks and Treats | Score outside-the-box goals in 10 separate matches using players with at least 4-star Weak Foot. |
| Nessie's Deep Gift | Have at least one Scottish player in your starting lineup and assist with through balls in 15 separate matches. |
| Grýla's Cauldron | Have at least one Icelandic player in your starting lineup and win 13 matches. |
| Lost Your Head? | Have at least one American player in your starting lineup and score 10 headed goals. |
| The Red Countess | Have at least one Hungarian player in your starting lineup and score chip shots in 5 separate matches. |
| Spirit Harvest | Have at least one Ultimate Scream player in your starting lineup and score 50 goals. |
You do not need to grind through every Objective immediately. You can buy FUT 27 coins and build a Squad Battles lineup featuring players of the required nationalities and make progress as you play.
Scream Token Store Rewards
Retro Cosmetic Evolution
The store features three cosmetic Evolutions with retro Ultimate Scream card designs inspired by FIFA 17, FUT 19, and FUT 20. These Evolutions do not provide any attribute boosts, and each one costs 100 tokens.
However, spending tokens on cosmetics is not recommended, as similar cosmetic rewards may become available later through Season Pass or for around 25,000 coins.
Packs
The main pack worth considering is Ultimate Scream Team 1 Guarantee Pack, which costs 800 tokens. A Team 2 Guarantee Pack is also expected to arrive next week.
Since the promotional player pool is relatively small, your chances of pulling a usable player may be reasonably good, making these packs worth considering if you have plenty of tokens to spare. Overall, however, exchanging tokens directly for specific players is a more reliable option than relying on pack luck.
Player Rewards
83 OVR Jeppe Tverskov, CB, 50 Tokens
His stats and PlayStyles are both underwhelming, making him little more than a filler option. Unless you want him for your collection, he is not worth considering.
85 OVR Sãid El Mala, ST, 300 Tokens
Sãid El Mala is an MLS player who can play as a striker, CAM, or on the left flank. He offers a balanced combination of pace, shooting, and dribbling, along with useful base PlayStyles such as Finesse Shot and Low Driven Shot. Overall, he is a solid option.
86 OVR Enzo Le Fée, LM, 550 Tokens
This card features 4-star Skill Moves and 3-star Weak Foot, and he can play as a CM, CAM, LM, or LW. His dribbling is particularly impressive.
He also has PlayStyles such as Technical, Quick Step, First Touch, and Incisive Pass. These traits should give him an excellent feel on the ball, potentially making him one of the best-value player rewards in the store.
87 OVR Juan Sebastián Verón, CAM, 900 Tokens
Starting December 1, he can temporarily receive 99-rated stats across the board. He offers excellent passing and shooting, although his body type may affect his in-game feel. He is worth considering if you are a fan, but he is not a top priority for most players.
87 OVR Jill Scott, CB, 1,500 Tokens
She has several highly meta PlayStyles, including Intercept, Anticipate, Bruiser, Relentless, and Aerial. If you care primarily about competitive performance and winning matches, this card is well worth considering.
Evolutions
Wicked Winger, 900 Tokens
This Evolution allows you to select one PlayStyle+ for an RM or RW with an OVR of 82 or lower. It offers a useful upgrade for an 80 OVR Martinelli, but the overall benefits are not particularly impressive. At 900 tokens, the cost is also relatively high.
The Haunted Wall, 500 Tokens
This Evolution is restricted to players with an original rating of 81 or lower and a maximum Pace rating of 85. It provides boosts to defending and physical attributes, along with a cosmetic upgrade.
The overall improvements are fairly modest, and the boost is not strong enough for a center-back. You can safely skip this Evolution.
Overall, the player options in this Scream Token Store are more appealing than Evolutions and cosmetic rewards. Although there are plenty of Objectives to complete, you can gradually build up your token balance by finishing Objectives and SBCs throughout the event.

Whether you're looking to escape defensive pressure, break through one-on-one, or create space in the penalty area, there's a technique that can make all the difference. The game's dribbling system rewards players who understand timing, ball control, and the psychology of competition.
This article will introduce five dribbling techniques in FUT 27 to help you better defeat your opponents.
Left-Stick Micro-Dribbling
Let's start with the most basic left-stick dribbling. You don't need to press any other buttons; simply move the left stick in the desired direction. Compared to faster dribbling techniques, this method allows for relatively slower player movement and better ball control.
This gives you more opportunities to change direction and react to defenders' actions, which is why left-stick dribbling is so important. You don't always need fakes or explosive sprints to get past your opponent. Sometimes, a simple change of direction is enough, but before that, you need to understand some basics of FIFA 27.
Your player cannot change the ball's direction the instant you move the stick. The timing of your touch is crucial. Every time a player touches the ball, you have one opportunity to change its direction.
Therefore, don't randomly wiggle the left stick left and right. Instead, pay close attention to the ball's movement and try to synchronize your change of direction with your next touch.
Another important factor is observing the defenders. Don't decide on your next move before observing their reaction. For example, suppose you're approaching a defender inside the penalty area. Don't turn immediately; instead, touch the ball once or twice with the inside of your foot to mislead them into thinking you're moving in that direction.
Once the ball starts moving in that direction, quickly turn and then turn in the opposite direction on your next touch. The defender will then have to adjust their run, allowing you to accelerate into the newly created opening. The key is to make the defender react to your change of direction before you can react.
Remember, dribbling with the left stick is not only useful for getting past defenders but also a crucial tool for ball control, especially under midfield pressure when you need to find reliable passing options.
Sprint and Knock-Ons
Next, let's look at the fastest way to dribble in FC 27 - sprinting using R2 or RT. This technique allows you to cover longer distances faster than regular dribbling, but this extra speed comes with a significant drawback. The faster you move, the greater the distance between your two touches.
This means you have less control over the ball, and changing direction becomes more difficult. This is why sprinting is most effective when there's open space ahead, not when facing a defender directly. Knowing when to sprint can also help you avoid relying on expensive speedsters, saving you a lot of FC 27 coins.
There's another way to further enhance sprint efficiency: Knock-Ons. While sprinting, you can press the right stick to push the ball further in the direction you're running.
This allows the player to cover even more distance between each touch, especially effective when running into open space. Besides pressing the right stick, you can also push and hold the right stick in the direction of your run to further increase the ball's flight distance. You can also double-tap the right stick to push in the desired direction for maximum acceleration.
Another technique is the double-tap sprint push: if you've already turned but aren't running, and want to sprint quickly in the right direction, double-tapping the sprint button in that direction will come in handy. Remember, these techniques can only be used with a single touch of the ball.
Straight Dribbling
Another technique you must master in FUT 27 is the straight dribble, performed by holding down L1 or LB while moving the left stick. Your player won't constantly turn like other dribbling methods, but will remain forward while making slight lateral or backward touches of the ball. This allows you to dribble without turning, which is extremely useful against defenders.
If you simply turn and run in one direction, defenders often have enough time to react and block your movement. Instead, you can use a straight dribble, moving slightly to the side while keeping your body facing the goal.
The defender then must decide whether to follow your lateral movement or continue defending the space in front of them. Once he reacts, you can release L1 or LB button and immediately accelerate into an open space.
Effort Dribble Touch and Controlled First Touch
The next technique we'll introduce is one of the most effective ways to surprise your opponent: Power Dribble Touch. To use this technique, hold down R1 or RB button and push the right stick in the direction you want to control the ball.
Unlike the regular left stick dribble that controls player movement, Power Dribble Touch allows you to actively push the ball in the desired direction. This technique is especially useful when you want to quickly change the ball's direction without relying on conventional dribbling movements.
You can use the right stick to push the ball into an open space from either side, exploiting gaps in the defender's position. The most important thing is to identify the location of the open space before using this technique. In one-on-one situations, you can use this technique when you can clearly see the direction you want to get past the defender.
Controlled First Touch is a special form of dribbling technique. It's not used during dribbling, but before receiving the ball. Hold down R1 or RB while simultaneously flicking the right stick in the desired direction as the ball flies towards you.
This allows you to control the direction of your first touch and immediately direct the ball to the area you want to attack. This is very effective because defenders will typically adjust their positioning based on their anticipated receiving position.
Directional Nutmegs and Feints
This is your killer technique in FIFA 27 1v1. When you want to humiliate your opponent in tight spaces, a nutmeg is your best option. Hold down L1 and R1, then flick the right stick in the direction you want to control the ball. Your player will pass the ball between the defender's legs and then receive it on the other side. A shooting opportunity will then arise.
Nutmegs are most effective against defenders who are standing straight, moving slowly, or leaning in the wrong direction.
This concludes our article on FUT 27 dribbling techniques. These techniques, when used correctly, are incredibly powerful. Micro-dribbling allows you to survive; sprinting gets you into competitive situations; and powerful touches and first touches create space. So, go try them out in the game now!
