Upon first entering FC 27 Ultimate Team, some players may find Transfer Market locked, preventing them from searching for players, placing bids, or using Buy Now option.

For players new to EA SPORTS FC, this is usually related to Graduated Access.

You must first complete specific sets of Objectives to meet the in-game requirements for unlocking Transfer Market and Champions modes. Even after finishing all the tasks, access may not be granted immediately; there is often an additional waiting period.

How to Unlock It?

New players need to start with Ultimate Team Objectives and complete three sets of tasks in order:

1. Complete The Journey Begins;
2. Unlocking this grants access to First Team Dreams;
3. Complete First Team Dreams to unlock Rising Through Ranks;
4. Completing Rising Through Ranks fulfills the requirements to unlock Transfer Market and Champions modes.

These Objective sets cannot be skipped; the next set only becomes available after the previous one is completed. Returning Players with accounts in good standing may already have access and do not need to go through this process.

How Long Does It Take?

Even after completing Rising Through Ranks, there is a processing period before the market becomes fully available.

According to current EA rules, PC players may have to wait up to 48 hours, while players on platforms like PlayStation and Xbox may wait up to 24 hours. During this time, you can list items for sale on Transfer Market, but you cannot search, bid, or use Buy Now.

It is not unusual to find yourself able to sell cards but unable to buy them. Full access to search, bid, and Buy Now functions will only be granted once this waiting period ends.

Once you have full market access, you can use your accumulated FIFA 27 coins to search for and purchase players, allowing you to directly fill any gaps in your squad.

Why Is It Still Locked?

If you have completed all three sets of Objectives but FC 27 market remains locked, don’t immediately assume the tasks didn’t register.

Most often, it simply means the access permissions haven’t taken effect yet. There is an additional waiting period on PC and other platforms after completing Rising Through Ranks objective; if you can list cards for sale but cannot yet Search, Bid, or use Buy Now, you are likely still in this phase.

Another common misconception concerns Web App. Graduated Access unlocks Transfer Market and Champions modes within the game itself, but it does not automatically unlock Transfer Market within Web App or Companion App.

If you encounter in-game notifications regarding a blocked Transfer Market, a ban, or similar restrictions, these must be addressed as account-level restrictions. This situation is distinct from the standard waiting period new players undergo to gain market access.

Web App Access

Web App and Companion App have their own specific unlocking criteria.

Some eligible Returning Players may gain access immediately; accounts without immediate access must continue playing Ultimate Team, allowing the system to determine when to open the market based on account status, the number of FUT accounts used on the device, and Active Days.

EA defines an Active Day precisely: a day counts as active only if you complete three full Ultimate Team matches within a single UTC calendar day and log in to Web App or Companion App on that same day.

While working toward Web App access, you can still play Ultimate Team normally and continue building up FIFA 27 coins, rewards, and players through matches and Objectives.

If the account status is in good standing and no other Ultimate Team accounts have been created or used on the current device, market access is typically granted after about two Active Days.

If other Ultimate Team accounts have been used on the device, at least four Active Days are usually required; the more accounts used, the longer the unlock time may be.

Here is a common pitfall that leads to wasted effort: playing 10 or 20 matches in a single day does not count as multiple Active Days. Exceeding the daily requirement of three matches will not accelerate the unlocking of Web/Companion Transfer Market.

Why Graduated Access?

EA explains Graduated Access as follows: on one hand, it restricts non-compliant accounts from quickly entering FUT 27 market, thereby mitigating the impact of such activity on Ultimate Team economy; on the other, it encourages new players to first familiarize themselves with the fundamental mechanics of Ultimate Team.

For legitimate new accounts, this means Transfer Market is no longer a feature that is fully accessible immediately upon entering UT.

What to Do While Waiting?

The waiting period for FC 27 market access does not prevent you from continuing to progress in Ultimate Team. You can start by completing other objectives and playing Rivals or other UT modes to accumulate available rewards and FC coins.

When there is no market price reference yet, avoid rushing to Quick Sell high-rated cards, players from popular leagues, or potential fodder for future SBCs. Even if a card isn’t useful to you right now, it could hold trade value or be valuable for your squad once the market opens.

You can decide whether to save your packs based on your current squad, but there is no need to spend your coins in a hurry.

Wait until Transfer Market fully opens to compare player costs based on market prices; prioritizing upgrades for your squad’s weakest positions makes it easier to manage your budget than relying solely on packs.
