NEWS DETAIL
Whether you're looking to escape defensive pressure, break through one-on-one, or create space in the penalty area, there's a technique that can make all the difference. The game's dribbling system rewards players who understand timing, ball control, and the psychology of competition.
This article will introduce five dribbling techniques in FUT 27 to help you better defeat your opponents.

Left-Stick Micro-Dribbling
Let's start with the most basic left-stick dribbling. You don't need to press any other buttons; simply move the left stick in the desired direction. Compared to faster dribbling techniques, this method allows for relatively slower player movement and better ball control.
This gives you more opportunities to change direction and react to defenders' actions, which is why left-stick dribbling is so important. You don't always need fakes or explosive sprints to get past your opponent. Sometimes, a simple change of direction is enough, but before that, you need to understand some basics of FIFA 27.
Your player cannot change the ball's direction the instant you move the stick. The timing of your touch is crucial. Every time a player touches the ball, you have one opportunity to change its direction.
Therefore, don't randomly wiggle the left stick left and right. Instead, pay close attention to the ball's movement and try to synchronize your change of direction with your next touch.
Another important factor is observing the defenders. Don't decide on your next move before observing their reaction. For example, suppose you're approaching a defender inside the penalty area. Don't turn immediately; instead, touch the ball once or twice with the inside of your foot to mislead them into thinking you're moving in that direction.
Once the ball starts moving in that direction, quickly turn and then turn in the opposite direction on your next touch. The defender will then have to adjust their run, allowing you to accelerate into the newly created opening. The key is to make the defender react to your change of direction before you can react.
Remember, dribbling with the left stick is not only useful for getting past defenders but also a crucial tool for ball control, especially under midfield pressure when you need to find reliable passing options.

Sprint and Knock-Ons
Next, let's look at the fastest way to dribble in FC 27 - sprinting using R2 or RT. This technique allows you to cover longer distances faster than regular dribbling, but this extra speed comes with a significant drawback. The faster you move, the greater the distance between your two touches.
This means you have less control over the ball, and changing direction becomes more difficult. This is why sprinting is most effective when there's open space ahead, not when facing a defender directly. Knowing when to sprint can also help you avoid relying on expensive speedsters, saving you a lot of FC 27 coins.
There's another way to further enhance sprint efficiency: Knock-Ons. While sprinting, you can press the right stick to push the ball further in the direction you're running.
This allows the player to cover even more distance between each touch, especially effective when running into open space. Besides pressing the right stick, you can also push and hold the right stick in the direction of your run to further increase the ball's flight distance. You can also double-tap the right stick to push in the desired direction for maximum acceleration.
Another technique is the double-tap sprint push: if you've already turned but aren't running, and want to sprint quickly in the right direction, double-tapping the sprint button in that direction will come in handy. Remember, these techniques can only be used with a single touch of the ball.
Straight Dribbling
Another technique you must master in FUT 27 is the straight dribble, performed by holding down L1 or LB while moving the left stick. Your player won't constantly turn like other dribbling methods, but will remain forward while making slight lateral or backward touches of the ball. This allows you to dribble without turning, which is extremely useful against defenders.
If you simply turn and run in one direction, defenders often have enough time to react and block your movement. Instead, you can use a straight dribble, moving slightly to the side while keeping your body facing the goal.
The defender then must decide whether to follow your lateral movement or continue defending the space in front of them. Once he reacts, you can release L1 or LB button and immediately accelerate into an open space.
Effort Dribble Touch and Controlled First Touch
The next technique we'll introduce is one of the most effective ways to surprise your opponent: Power Dribble Touch. To use this technique, hold down R1 or RB button and push the right stick in the direction you want to control the ball.
Unlike the regular left stick dribble that controls player movement, Power Dribble Touch allows you to actively push the ball in the desired direction. This technique is especially useful when you want to quickly change the ball's direction without relying on conventional dribbling movements.
You can use the right stick to push the ball into an open space from either side, exploiting gaps in the defender's position. The most important thing is to identify the location of the open space before using this technique. In one-on-one situations, you can use this technique when you can clearly see the direction you want to get past the defender.
Controlled First Touch is a special form of dribbling technique. It's not used during dribbling, but before receiving the ball. Hold down R1 or RB while simultaneously flicking the right stick in the desired direction as the ball flies towards you.
This allows you to control the direction of your first touch and immediately direct the ball to the area you want to attack. This is very effective because defenders will typically adjust their positioning based on their anticipated receiving position.
Directional Nutmegs and Feints
This is your killer technique in FIFA 27 1v1. When you want to humiliate your opponent in tight spaces, a nutmeg is your best option. Hold down L1 and R1, then flick the right stick in the direction you want to control the ball. Your player will pass the ball between the defender's legs and then receive it on the other side. A shooting opportunity will then arise.
Nutmegs are most effective against defenders who are standing straight, moving slowly, or leaning in the wrong direction.
This concludes our article on FUT 27 dribbling techniques. These techniques, when used correctly, are incredibly powerful. Micro-dribbling allows you to survive; sprinting gets you into competitive situations; and powerful touches and first touches create space. So, go try them out in the game now!
